Change needs to start from somewhere; change needs to start from us.
They are striving to improve their lives. The amount of food supplies, monetary donations and "service hours" we give them is not enough; what they really need from us is our understanding. The prejudices held by the middle-upper class people towards the less-fortunate counterparts is the true hindrance to creating sustainable and lasting change in our society.
TODAY'S STUDENTS, TOMORROW'S LEADERS
We are cultivating Indonesia's future.
Much resources and aid is already dedicated to underprivileged children who live in some sort of institutions—like orphanages or enrichment institutions. But what about the children living on the streets of Jakarta? How can they obtain the resources and guidance they need to properly grow?

IT'S ON US
Streetizens is a youth-led two-fold movement that aims to utilise the power of film and social media to break the stigmas carried by children living in the slum areas of Jakarta, as well as improve their living standards through education.
A legal NGO in Indonesia, Streetizens has also recently formed a partnership with UNICEF as part of their U-Report program. After winning their annual San Marino-Alexander Bodini Childrens Award in 2017, Streetizens has expanded our reach to three main slums in the Jakarta area.
